Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on the Victoria Road in Carrickfergus.

At approximately 3.35pm on Wednesday, September 7 a 13-year-old male was assaulted by two males on his way home from school. This occurred on a footpath approximately halfway up the Victoria Road.

The boy received injuries, which are not life threatening, to his face and head.

Constable Conor McKinley said: “I would especially like to hear from two females who we believe got out of their vehicle to assist the injured male, and anyone else who drove by at the time and who may be able to provide us with any information.

“I would also appeal to anyone else who may have any information about this incident to contact police at Larne on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 836 of 07/09/16.
