PSNI officers have responded to complaints over illegal parking at Whitehead Primary School.

Officers from the Local Policing Team spoke to motorists in response to concerns over vehicles parking on double yellow lines outside the school at Islandmagee Road.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “This was a good opportunity to engage with motorists and to educate them on the potential dangers around areas where young people are present.”

Meanwhile, concerns have been shared on social media over inconsiderate parking in the vicinity of other schools in the locality.

Some parents are accused of parking in a bus stop at Belfast Road near Model Primary in Carrick.

Some parents parking at Greenisland Primary were said to “block the whole road” and Victoria Rise in Carrick was said to experience “gridlock” from school run traffic.
