National win for Carrick pole vaulter

A Carrick schoolgirl scooped a national win in Dublin at the weekend.

Seventeen-year-old Ellie McCartney who is nominated for school sporting achievements in the Mid and East Antrim Sports Awards has won the national senior pole vault competition at the new Irish stadium in Abbottstown Dublin ranking her first in Ireland for all age groups.
