The Northern Trust has launched a new updated ‘Carers A-Z Directory’ to support carers by indicating help available.

The directory details information about support services provided within the Northern Trust and through external organisations.

The booklet was compiled in partnership with Carers NI, and will be distributed throughout the Trust Health and Social Care teams, GP practices and community/voluntary organisations.

Olive MacLeod, chair of the Carers Strategy Steering Group and director of nursing and user experiences for the Northern Trust, said: “Family carers make a vital contribution to the health and well-being of our population.

“We know from working with carers that up-to-date information is essential to supporting them in their caring role. This A-Z directory provides a comprehensive list of support services within the Northern Trust and in the community and voluntary sector and we will endeavour to distribute it as widely as possible.”

Copies of the directory are available from the Trust carers co-ordinator by calling 028 2766 1392 or you can email anne.cummings@norterntrust.hscni.net. Further information about Trust support for family carers is available on the Northern Trust website www.northerntrust.hscni.net.
