Carrickfergus Borough Council is advising of a change of arrangement for the collection of sandbags during the weather alert.
Sandbags are available by visiting Carrickfergus Marina reception and not from a council vehicle at Rodgers Quay as indicated earlier by the local authority.
Sandbags have been made available in the Rhanbuoy area where residents have moved their vehicles to safety, according to East Antrim MLA David Hilditch.
Pointing out the high tide period has now passed without heavy rain compounding problems, Mr Hilditch stressed that the weather warnings remain in place throughout the weekend.
“Every concerted effort is currently being made by both council officers and elected members to increase the numbers of sandbags available to us for distribution.
“It is a developing situation that council officers are continually monitoring in order to be able to react to any likelihood of flooding,” a council statement added.
