A £145,000 capital investment scheme to resurface the footway and carriageway at Coronation Road in Carrickfergus began this week.
The scheme is expected to be completed by Friday, 26 September.
Commenting on the scheme, Transport Minister Danny Kennedy said: “This capital scheme will bring important improvements for road users and pedestrians in the area.
“The scheme will increase the working life of Coronation Road and greatly improve road strength.
“Drivers in particular will quickly realise the benefits of the improved surface quality of the carriageway.”
To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors, it will be necessary to operate partial lane closures and additional traffic management at the location up until Friday September 26. Local access will be maintained during the improvements.
Road closures will be required during the final stages of the scheme to facilitate carriageway resurfacing.
Dates will depend on the progress of the works and will be confirmed in advance of any closure.
