Mayor of Larne and UUP member Maureen Morrow, elected in the Coast Road

UUP Mayor of Larne Maureen Morrow was the first person was elected to the new Mid and East Antrim District Council.

Her first preference vote of 946 was enough to see her top the poll and exceed the quota of 898 in Coast Road District Electoral Area.

The first citizen told the TIMES at the count centre in Seven Towers Leisure Centre, Ballymena: “I am absolutely delighted and feel privileged to be the first person elected to the new Mid and East Antrim Council. I want to give a big thank-you to those who have assisted me in getting here.”
