Investigation over ‘aggravated burglary’ in Greenisland

Detectives are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary that occurred at a flat in the Kinbayne Crescent area of Greenisland on the evening of Tuesday, June 28.

Just after 10.50pm, police received a report that a number of men armed with hammers and knives had forced their way into the flat and caused damage to furniture.

A man, aged in his 30s, was punched but did not require medical attention. A woman, aged in her 40s, was not injured in the incident.

Detective Sergeant Peter Crothers said: “I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives at Larne Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1327 of 28/06/16.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
