There will be ‘Jump Jiggle and Jive’ for younger children, ‘Fun with Drums’, a cafe, a puppet show, crafts and the ‘GodmodeX’ gaming bus.

The new church opened on the site of the former health centre at Glassillan Grove

Building work got underway in October 2015 and the doors of the new building opened on February 12.

Pastor Dave Wilson said: “The housewarming weekend is an opportunity for us to open up the doors and let people come together to see the transformation that has taken place. God has placed us right in the heart of Greenisland.”

He paid tribute to the support of the local churches which have provided temporary accommodation.

Three local churches in Greenisland hosted the church and its activities during the building project, including the Church of Ireland, Greenisland Methodist Church and Greenisland Presbyterian Church. The church was also able to meet each Sunday morning in Greenisland Boys’ Football Club.

Dave continued: “The ways in which the church has been supported by other churches and the local community, especially the football club, has been wonderful.

“We have benefited from their generosity and kindness in many ways and hope to build on the relationships that have been created as a result of this project.

“It is now good to finally have the building open, and we trust it will be a great new resource for the church in expressing God’s love and for serving the local community.”

“We now want to share our new home with you. So you are invited to come along to the housewarming party on Sat March 11 for a coffee and a bun, fun activities for the kids, or have a walk around the new building.”
