Fundraising effort in memory of late Londonderry man
Shaun (aged 30) died as a result of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) in February 2013. Son-in-law Gareth Johnson organised a football tournament and social evening in Londonderry and raised over £10,000 in memory of Shaun.
Vera’s daughter, Verona Frankish, accepted the award. She said: “On behalf of the McCready family, I’m honoured to accept this award from Epilepsy Action.

But none of what we have done, or are doing, is about recognition or receiving awards for ourselves – it’s about honouring the man that we miss every day.”
