Fire at Carrick town centre shop

Fire fighters were called to a blaze at a shop in Carrick town centre this afternoon.

A fire broke out at Selections Wool Shop, North Street, at 1.50 pm.

Two appliances were tasked to the premises just yards from the fire station at Lancasterian Street.

A spokesperson for Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service described the blaze as “accidental”.

The crews left the scene at 2.33 pm.
