A Carrick resident has voiced concern over a trolley dumped on a stretch of beach at the seafront.

The pedestrian who was walking at Marine Highway with his daughter said that he was “quite annoyed” to make the discovery.

A length of railing was also spotted on the sand.

The man said: “Just ten minutes before seeing this, I watched seven young teenage girls walking over the Clipperstown bridge with an empty Tesco trolley while laughing and kidding around. “

There has been concern locally over anti-social behaviour in the vicinity of Clipperstown bridge and railway halt.

A task group was set up in Carrick recently in a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour among young people in the town.

Currently, Mid and East Policing and Community Safety Partnership is funding twilight football for seven to 17-year-olds at Carrick Rangers’ 3G pitches, on Saturdays, from 7.00 pm until 9.00 pm.
