Carrick pastor Drew Hamill and Sunday school super Hollie McCrudden, from Victoria Evangelical Hall, returned to Bogota in Colmbia last month for a week’s mission work.

They visited three different projects - Hope House one for boys, Hope House two for girls and a centre in the Juan Rey district which feeds 300 children daily.

This is Drew’s third trip to the capital with the Mission Possible Christian charity.

During the visit, the local pair distributed football tops which had been donated by well-wishers in East Antrim.

Drew said: “To see the joy and delight on those children’s faces with such a simple gift touched our hearts. While visiting Juan Wray, we also gave out woollen hats that the boys and girls loved.

“We were overcome with emotion and with love for the children and their families.

“The hospitality that was shown to us by the Columbian people, people who have nothing but were willing to open their homes, churches and most of all their hearts to us. We say thank you to them, people who have a very special place in our hearts.”
