Police have been appealing to parents to know the whereabouts and activities of their children.

However, the PSNI has expressed concern that some young people have “decided to respond on social media in a way which challenged police and disrespected their own community”.

The PSNI has pledged that officers will be in the “areas of concern in both Larne and Carrickfergus until this problem is resolved”.
