Housing Executive tenants in Whitehead are urged to be vigilant when opening the door to strangers following a recent bogus caller incident.

A man, claiming to be from the Housing Executive, called to a house last week,

However, he was not carrying identification which raised the tenants’ suspicions.

Mid and East Antrim Housing Manager, Roy McClean, said; “We understand the bogus caller told the tenant he was looking at carrying out work to the rear of the property involving drainage.

“The tenant contacted our local office and alerted the police. Thankfully nothing was stolen from the property. All our staff carry identification. Their identity can be verified by calling the phone number printed on the pass.”

“If in doubt, contact police.”
