Local councillors have queried the costs involved with the annual Carrickfergus ladies football tournament.
The contest, which takes place in the summer, sees a number of UK and international female football teams travel to the town to compete.
Speaking at Monday night’s meeting of the Development Services Committee, Alderman Jim Brown said: “We need to be kept updated as to the cost of this event; it can be quite an expensive function and we need to be sure we are getting value for money.”
Councillor Charlie Johnston added: “We are not aware of the full cost and we need to know quickly before we strike a rate.”
The possibility of drawing funding for the event from sources outside the council has also been explored.
