A fundraising event by a Carrickfergus business has provided a financial boost for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Close Cuts and Just Nails salon in Woodburn raised £681.35 for the charity, which supports people with dementia, their families and carers.
The fundraiser on May 1 saw the staff providing blow-drys, file and polish and selling ballots and badges.
Through campaigning, the Alzheimer’s Society strives to influence government policies and raise awareness of the challenges faced by people with dementia and the people who care for them. There are over 19,000 people living with dementia in Northern Ireland today.
