Network to bring 4G service to Whitehead

O2 will soon be launching 4G in Whitehead as part of a bid to bring high speed mobile Internet to customers in rural areas.

The mobile phone network announced this week that it will bring its 4G service to the seaside town as well as improving its 2G and 3G network. Work is scheduled to start the week commencing Monday, August 8.

Subject to successful implementation and testing, customers will see the improved service in the coming weeks. During the work, there may be times when a customer’s signal experiences intermittent service.

O2 is spending £600 million in 2016 on its network and by the end of 2017 will have invested over £3billion in 4G and the modernisation of its 2G and 3G networks across the UK.
