Lorraine Crymble, a nurse at Antrim Area Hospital, is taking part in a skydive in memory of her father David McKee, who suffered from the disease before he passed away in 2002.

She will be joined by her colleague Tracy Johnson, from Randalstown, and Tracy’s nephew Nathan Hutchinson, 16.

Tracy and Nathan are raising funds for the Down’s Syndrome Association.

Lorraine explained: “None of us have done a skydive before, but the closer it gets, I’m actually getting really excited about it.”

The trio have been raising funds towards the jump for three months. “We’ve been doing things like bagpacking; I have a target of £500 and Tracy’s is £400,” Lorraine added.

The skydive will take place at the Wild Geese centre in Garvagh on June 11.
