Carrickfergus Community Church will mark its 25th anniversary this weekend with a party for the congregation on Saturday.

The event will take place at the Open Door Centre in Sunnylands.

On Sunday, Pastor Trevor Clarke will officially hand over the church to his son, James Clarke, who is currently assistant minister, at the evening service.

James said: “I will carry on the vision that is Carrickfergus Community Church. We are a community church accepting of all denominations and totally independent. We welcome everyone from all walks of life.

“I want to make the church more family orientated. We have seen our youth members grow and have families of their own.”

He indicated that creche facilities are available during Sunday morning worship which starts at 11.00 am. An evening service takes place at 7.00 pm.
