Carrick Christmas events programme

The council has revealed its 2016 Christmas programme of events for Carrickfergus, with plenty of fun for all the family.

The festive schedule will kick off with the annual Christmas Lights Switch on on Saturday November 19.

The popular event, which includes live entertainment and a fireworks display, will be held in the town from 1pm-6pm that day.

Then, on Saturday December 3, a Christmas tree decorating workshop will be held at the De Courcy Centre from 1pm-3pm.

The council is also considering holding St Andrew’s Day celebrations at Carrickfergus Castle from 11am-3pm, but this has yet to be formally confirmed.

There will also be a programme of Christmas activities taking place in the town on Saturdays throughout December.

This will include fun for all the family, such as a silver band concert, face painting, walk about characters, a Christmas Grotto, and the attendance of Carrickfergus FM.

“Shop Carrickfergus” merchandise will also be made available for local retailers, while discount promotions and competitions will be on offer in an effort to boost local trade.
