From April 1, when the castle opens its gates to the public, visitors will be able to visit the stunning flora and fauna of the estate’s walled garden, which the team of gardeners have been nurturing and preparing all over the winter.

New for 2017 is the extended Tea Rooms which have lost none of their original charm, and a brand new Castle Shop which will stock a wide range of ladies and gents fashions, giftware and souvenirs.

Regular visitors to the estate will be delighted that the Tulip Festival will be running again from the end of April, which attracts horticulturalists and tulip lovers from far and wide.

And, following on from the success of last year’s Education Authority Youth Orchestra’s concert, they will return at the end of May hosted by BBC presenter Claire McCollum, with ‘Hits from the Musicals’.

Also this year, there is a theatrical production of David Walliams’s children’s book ‘Billionaire Boy’ and then the well-established Dalriada Festival returns on July 15 and 16 with a host of activities including the appearance of the Official Peppa Pig and George.
