Mid and East Antrim Borough Mayor Councillor Audrey Wales is urging everyone to become a ‘Proud Quitter’ on No Smoking Day 2017.

A ‘Proud to be a Quitter’ No Smoking Day event is taking place in sports facilities across the Mid and East Antrim Borough.

Located at Seven Towers Leisure Centre, Ballymena; Larne Leisure Centre and in Amphitheatre Leisure Centre, Carrickfergus they are all taking place between 4pm and 6pm on Wednesday, March 8.

Everyone is welcome to attend these drop-in sessions for which no booking is required.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough Councillor Audrey Wales MBE has already been playing her part to encourage everyone – including Council staff - to join in.

Councillor Wales said the No Smoking Day 2017 themed ‘Proud to be a Quitter’ event is being undertaken in partnership with the Public Health Agency – and is very appropriate.

Speaking at Seven Towers Leisure Centre, the Mayor said: “Everyone is invited to take advantage of the information sessions that will run during No Smoking Day across all three of our leisure centres, in Ballymena, Larne and Carrickfergus.

“Council staff are also being encouraged to come along and join members of the public to take advantage of a range of support information being provided about how best to kick the habit and be ‘Proud to be a Quitter’,” said Councillor Wales.
