Glarryford YFC's winter programme has snowballed!
The first Club meeting of the new season, which took the form of a games night conducted by Ally’s sports, attracted 17 new members.
October also saw four members take part in the YFCU swimming competition from which Josh Irwin returned with a first place in the under 18’s boys section.

Hide AdMembers also achieved success in the Floral Art competition with Suzanne Reid placed second in the 14-16 age group whilst Cathy Reid was placed second in the 18-21 age group and in the YFCU Public Speaking competition with Amy Gregg taking second in the 12-14 age group and Cathy Reid taking first in both the 18-21 prepared and impromptu sections. Both girls were placed second in their age groups in the prepared section of the NI Finals and thanks have been extended to their coaches.
A senior and junior Glarryford team entered the County Antrim Quiz and the senior team gained third place.
A 15-member group of over-18s travelled to Scotland for the return leg of the Club’s Scottish exchange which saw them enjoy a weekend touring the region and learning about Scottish farming from their counterparts at Brechin Young Farmers’ Club with a reunion already in the planning.
November 7 saw five Glarryford teams enter the group debating competition. The 12-14 team consisting of Ben King, Ben Millar and Emma Cruickshank came second and the 18-21 team consisting of Cathy Reid, Amy King and Ruth McCloy came first.

Hide AdMembers turned out in force for their Club Dinner on November 11 when David Oliver was guest speaker for the evening.
Other activities have included attendance at the County Antrim Dinner Dance, a Chinese dinner night and participation in the YFC Home Management Competition.
Glarryford YFC are now looking forward to hosting ‘The wife wants a farmer’ on December 2 and a Christmas themed tractor run from Killymurris Church car park on December 17 for which the entry fee is £15 including a barbecue.
