TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at a Carrickfergus supermarket.
The suspects, aged 31 and 32, were arrested at the Minorca Place premises shortly before 8.00pm last Tuesday (November 10) and released pending report to the Public Prosecution Services.
A further two incidents of theft were reported at the same l
ocation on the previous day. A bicycle belonging to a customer, worth around £700, was taken from the front of the store around 6.45pm, while two laptop computers were reported stolen from the shop at 8.15pm.
Also on November 10, two gift sets were stolen from a shop on High Street. A description has been issued of two individuals to whom police would like to speak. Both are in their mid-30s, one a male, who was wearing a bright blue Adidas top with grey stripes on the sleeves and blue jeans, the other female, wearing a grey top and with blonde hair in a ponytail.
The theft of cash, a jewellery box and a cheque book from a house at Model Avenue was discovered on November 11. The householder returned home at 11.23pm to find a rear window had been forced open and the items removed.
Heating oil was reported stolen from an address at Hillside Park on November 12. The theft may have occurred any time between July 2009 and this date.
A second break-in at Model Avenue was reported in the early hours of November 13. It is not clear whether anything was stolen.
Burglars targeted a Larne Road building site during the same night, making off with six bathroom sets and causing damage to the interior of the properties.
A scrambler motorcyle reported stolen from Emerald Drive at 11.15 on Novemer 13 was recovered a short time later in a nearby field.
The following day, a break-in in the Coronation Road area was reported to police. Rooms had been gone through by intruders in search of valuables. This incident may have occurred at any time in the previous few days.
