UNCERTAINTY over social housing projects in Carrick has given way to relief for residents of three areas.
Almost 100 Housing Executive tenants in Whitehead and Eden can look forward to new kitchens in their homes with the start of a major £450,000 scheme.
There had been concern a shortfall in the housing authority's budget caused by the recession and reduced revenue from property sales would impact locally.
However, the Executive confirmed this week the borough is to get a share of an additional £6million funding for the sector.
District Manager Aileen Marks described the work to be carried out by Dixons Contractors as a welcome boost.
